Coventry University
Based in Coventry, the UK’s only City of Peace and Reconciliation, the Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations at Coventry University delivers world-leading impact-focussed research to help individuals and communities facing insecurity, inequality and societal challenges.
With an underpinning concern for social justice, the Centre targets those facing injustice whether economically or politically-driven: those in conflict-affected communities, refugees, migrants, vulnerable communities, marginalised groups, women and young people.
The Centre’s work resonates strongly with policy-makers and practitioners working in social policy, migration, and UN agencies, and any individuals with an interest in fostering more peaceful communities. We especially welcome young leaders who aspire to be agents of change.
The Centre recognises that complex problems require complex solutions. The Centre tackles difficult and intractable societal challenges by taking a holistic, interdisciplinary approach which prioritises the voices of those who feel the effects most. By engaging with challenges through the complementary lenses of trust, peace and social relations, our research focus and capability is unique.
The Centre currently employs 70 research staff and also has 55 postgraduate PhD students and 50 students on its three Masters programmes.
