Graduate of a Masters in sociology, he is a PhD candidate at Felix Houphouët Boigny University in Côte d'Ivoire. He is also an associate researcher at the Laboratory of Economic Sociology and Anthropology of Symbolic Belongings (LAASSE) and a permanent researcher at the African Mining Environment research group (AEMA). In addition, the diversity of these areas of interest testifies to the problems and he is particularly interested in issues related to mining, the environment, social conflicts, resilience, migration, nutrition, etc. etc. As such, he has collaborated with several research centers (CSRS, CIRAD, Samuel Hall, Channel Research, Oasis Consulting), development agencies (GIZ), mining companies (Newcrest-CI). Finally, Yao Yao Cyprien has to his credit two publications in French at the national level available in the Revue Économie et Société du LAASSE and the Revue Africaine de Migration et Environnement.
