Ms Indu Dhungana is a social science researcher working as a Research Officer at the Nepal Institute for Social and Environmental Research (NISER). Her work is mostly focused on migration and gender inequality. She has earned her university degree in International Relation, with the specialization of "Kashmir and South Asia Studies" from the University of Kashmir, India. She is also pursuing LLB and Post Graduate Diploma in Counseling Psychology from Tribhuwan University Nepal. She has previously worked as a project coordinator and Psycho-social counselor in different organizations.
Ms Dhungana is the recipient of South Asia Foundation scholarship for pursuing her Master's degree from the University of Kashmir. Having studied in a conflict zone for two years, she has strong knowledge of forced migration. Her interest lies in academic and non-academic research based on migration, gender and society. Being a student of "Area Studies", she is much interested in exploring the different dimensions of interregional and intraregional migration through a gender perspective. As a researcher, she believes in result-orientated performance and wants to intensify her knowledge on South-South migration and its dimensions.
