Caterina Mazzilli completed her PhD in Migration Studies in 2019 at the University of Sussex. Her research is a cross-country comparison on city narratives of receptiveness, which employed Brighton and Bologna as case studies. After the PhD, Caterina worked as Post-doc Research Assistant at Queen Mary University of London in the ESRC-funded “The Art of International Friendship” Project, lead by Dr. Holly Eva Ryan. Over the last eight years, Caterina published a variety of academic articles, reports, and blog posts on various issues in the field of migration, while also working as a consultant for international organisations and NGOs. Caterina speaks Italian, English, and Spanish, and has an understanding of German and Portuguese.
